Commence alors une prolifique carrière de chef invité en France et en Europe, principalement en Autriche et en Russie.
Après avoir mené une belle carrière pendant plusieurs années en Europe, notamment en Norvège, Suède, Autriche, Espagne, Allemagne, il décide de recentrer son activité sur Bordeaux. Il crée et développe son propre orchestre répondant à ses idées et sa méthode de direction. L'Orchestre Symphonique de Gironde est ainsi né en 2008.

Great recognition for the orchestra whose educational activities have been unanimously recognized with the public for more than 10 years. Great recognition also for Lionel Gaudin-Villard on the initiative of these Mini Concerts created in order to bring and awaken the school public to the classical music.
The "Mini Concerts" were also honored with the "Audiens Generation Fondation Award of Excellence" and the "City of Bordeaux Initiative Award" in 2018.
Almost 35,000 young people attend these unique concerts each year.
Lionel Gaudin-Villard broadens his repertoire and creates a lot of works composed by young talents. His concerts are creating a real springboard for young artists. He created the musical tales of Sacha Chaban "The Fables of La Fontaine", "Jack and the magic bean", "Hansel and Gretel"; of Sally Galet "Un air de Raiponce"; of Jérémie Voin "Ulysses and the sirens".
He collaborated with the Jeune Ballet d'Aquitaine and created the ballet "La Reine des fées" (2016), and, with the Company Sohrâb Chitan, the ballets "Kuolema ou la Jeune fille et la mort" in 2018 and "Le Chaperon Rouge" in 2019.
Between 1996 and 2020, he collaborated with many lyric companies including Figaro-ci, Figaro-la directed by Maryse Ghibaudo for which he conducted "Valse de Vienne" by Viarney, "La Poule Noire" by Rosenthal, "Il Campanello di notte" by Donizetti and "Orphée aux enfers" of Offenbach. He conducts "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Don Giovanni" by Mozart, "The Barber of Seville" by Rossini for the Company Les Chants de Garonne directed by Emmanuel Gardeil.
As part of La Fabrique Opéra de Bordeaux, he conducts Carmen de Bizet in front of nearly 10,000 spectators between Bordeaux and Angoulême.
Lionel Gaudin-Villard has also worked on a vast sacred repertoire of the 18th to the 20th centuries with various choirs at Bordeaux and Europe including the Requiem by Mozart (Sussmayer and Beyer versions), Cherubini, Fauré and Verdi, Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms, the Te Deum and Stabat Mater by Dvorak.
We can also mention the a cappella repertoire and / or with accompaniment of Fauré, Gounod, Saint-Saëns, Messiaen, Duruflé, Poulenc, Bartok, Barber, Bernstein, Copland, Whitacre, Pärt, Lauridsen ...
Lionel Gaudin-Villard, born in 1972, studied music at the conservatories of Bayonne and Bordeaux.
In 1998, he unanimously obtained the orchestra conducting diploma from Robert Delcroix's conducting class. Previously, he took choir conducting lessons from Eliane Lavail and Michel Tranchant between 1995 and 1999 in parallel with harmony and composition lessons, clarinet, piano and lyrical singing.
Then began a prolific career as a guest conductor in France and Europe, mainly in Austria and Russia. He conducts regularly in Vienna the Kammerorchester Wien. He assists the Viennese conductor Hans Graf during the 1998/99 season of the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine for some programs, in particular dedicated to the works of Manuel de Falla and Shostakovitch. In 2000, he left for Russia to assist and collaborate with Alexander Kantorow and the Klassika Orchestra of St Persterbourg. In 2002, he assisted John Nelson at the time at the head of the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris (now Orchester de Chambre de Paris) in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Choral Fantasy.
After having had a good career in Europe for several years, notably in Norway, Sweden, Austria, Spain, Germany, he decided to refocus his activity on Bordeaux. He creates and develops his own orchestra responding to his ideas and his method of conducting. The Gironde Symphony Orchestra was thus born in 2008.
